WHY WORK FOR BAM?
Burnamwood summer camps are absolutely a ministry for campers ages 1st grade through 12th grade. To be a summer camp staff member, your top priority coming into work should be to care for each camper’s well being and safety as they enter a Christian camping community. For our campers, Burnamwood is an extremely special place and the summer camp staff play an important role in facilitating a unique, positive environment.
If you’re ready to unleash your creative spirit, be flexible when the need arises, live as a strong and positive role model, and create a fun and safe atmosphere for campers of all ages, then prayerfully consider spending your summer as a Burnamwood summer staff member!
BAM is a place that seeks to host volunteers of varying skills in a week of community service. Not only will you be encouraging your volunteers to try new things, but you will be encouraged in your individuality and leadership. Throughout the summer, you work with a unique and friendly staff who will be there for you every step of the way. Every day is a new adventure at camp, but you will have people behind you, encouraging you when you say “YES!” to trying something new.
Spend your days being active, exploring the beautiful 500 acres of Burnamwood and the Central Appalachia region. As a summer staff member you’ll play an important role in leading and facilitating a week full of mission projects and recreation, helping instill an active and healthy lifestyle for all volunteers and hopefully, yourself all summer long!
BAM operates through the hard work of a small, tight-knit staff. Each staff member plays an important role in executing a meaningful mission trip experience.
We believe in putting our faith into actions. We convey Christian faith by working hard to serve our neighbors and volunteers. The primary way we do ministry is caring for others as Jesus cared for us. Working at BAM, you will be surrounded by a faith-based community that will support you in your own spiritual journey!
As a BAM staff member, you will be challenged to grow physically, emotionally, and spiritually. You will be a teacher, counselor, coordinator, and leader. BAM is a vital ministry for hundreds of volunteers and dozens of non-profits and families in Central Appalachia. Because people are counting on us for help, we believe in giving the job everything we have in order to accomplish something wonderful!
